'Theeram' is a program for mentally challenged children, undertaken by India Center for Social Change (ICSC), a charitable Trust, registered in Kerala. 'Theeram' as the word indicates, serves as a shore of love and care for hundreds of children with special needs in Kerala. ICSC has 10 vocational training centers and a day care center for the elderly in operation under the popular 'Theeram' banner.

Well wishers and supporters of 'Theeram' have formed circles of 'friends of Theeram' in various parts of the world. The Kuwait Chapter commenced functioning after the visit of ICSC chairman, H.G.Dr.Geevarghes Mor Coorilos to Kuwait in September 2007. The initiative was taken by Dr.Noble Zachariah, Mr.Babu Maracheril, Dr.Sonia Noel, Mr.Ajay George and others. They have also started an internet email discussion group. In Boston, USA, another circle of 'friends of Theeram' has started functioning. Rev.Dn.Anup Kuruvilla and Mr.Jacob Cherian are initiating this group. The UAE chapter of Friends of Theeram was inaugurated in Dubai early December 2008. The U.K. chapter is also being organised under the leadership of Mr.Elias Kavalppara and Mrs. Dona Elias in London. Circles are also being formed in other parts of USA and other Gulf countries.
